Thiagarajar College, Madurai is an Educational Institution under Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagaraja Chettiar Memorial Charity Trust. Started on July 7, 1949, the college was formally declared open by His Excellency the Maharaja of Bhavnagar, the then Governor of Madras, on October 12, 1949. The college offers 16 UG, 15 PG, 8 M.Phil, and 7 Ph.D., programmes.
M.Sc., Bioresources Management, an innovative course sponsored by UGC, is a multidisciplinary started in 2007 with special emphasis on computer programming and computational modelling to develop strategies for conserving biological resources.
